Dr. Irfan Muzaffar offers a blend of expertise as both an academic and practitioner. He has a PhD in Curriculum, Instruction, and Education Policy from Michigan State University and a Masters of Arts in Mathematics Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. He co-founded the Campaign for Quality Education, a campaign to focus government attention and resources to improve the quality of education in public schools, and contributes to their annual Education Monitor.
Irfan has worked as a teacher, teacher educator, and researcher for the last twenty years. He has published his work in Comparative International Review, Education Theory, Cultural Studies of Science Education, and Journal of Social and Policy Sciences. He also contributes a biweekly column on issues of education reform in The News on Sunday.
