Introduction
The course is made around the contemporary trends in education and draws lessons from the past practices to reform the present and future of teaching and learning.
The course focuses on latest innovations in curriculum development, contemporary teaching methods, assessment practices and other skills that are necessary to engage 21st century learners. Moreover, it converges on several elements that play a fundamental role in bringing educational reforms in institutions. The course also focuses on the context based issues in education and the role that a teacher’s reflective practice plays in bringing about classroom based reforms. The course participants will also be empowered to not only adopt viable strategies and approaches in their professional practices but also to implement them in their teaching contexts. A practical strand in the course will enable participants to simulate teaching before peers by incorporating innovative ideas learnt in the course.
